Test ADS 2021 Spring Convention Survey

The 2021 Spring Convention was ADS’s second virtual event. While the production team is gaining experience, we need reports from you about (1) how well it worked for you and (2) how it can be made better for you in the future.

The questions have multiple check boxes. Check all that apply to you. If you have comments, click on the “Other” selection (either check the box in the list or click on the word “Other”) to see a text field to type in. The text boxes will grow as you need them to. Some questions have separate “Other” boxes just in case you want to elaborate.

We look forward to your responses. This is easier than last time. You can click away on-line and hit submit when you are done. It will check if you filled in required questions (1, 1a, 2, 13, and 14 – they have asterisks) and send it automatically to us. ADS 2021 Spring Convention Survey

1a. Did the Spring Convention meet or exceed your expectations?

I didn't get as much as I expected.

The conduct of business was about as good as in-person board meetings I've been to.

I think verbal commentary was noticeably less than at in-person board meetings I've attended.

I found the absence of objection rather than actual voting acceptable for a virtual meeting.

6. About the lectures, presentations and judges' refresher (click all that apply):

As a presenter, I had no trouble using Zoom to give my presentation.

As a presenter, I had trouble sharing my PowerPoint or other application on Zoom.

Audio was clear for the presentations I watched.

Video, including shared PowerPoint or other applications, was clear for the presentations I watched.

I liked the presentations being spread out to different days.

I wish the presentations had been over a shorter time span.

I wish some of the presentations had been given at two different times so I could view the one most convenient for my time zone.

6a. Other: Is there anything else we should know about the lectures, presentations, or judges' refresher (separate from Zoom issues)? Presentation quality? Presentation content? What did you like the most? What didn't work for you? Why or why not?

I did not watch the live auctions.

I watched the live auction but did not bid on anything.

I bid and understood how to lower my hand when the price exceeded my limit.

I unintentionally won because I wasn't able to lower my hand quickly enough.

It would be okay with me if the ADS continued to have some virtual meetings even after it was safe to meet in person.

I appreciate the savings in time and travel costs by having virtual meetings
